DELHI Blast: 10 Killed, 24 Injured; HM Briefs PM on Situation

Nov 10, 2025 (Agencies): A blast near the Red Fort, also known as Lal Qila, killed at least 10 people and injured 24 this evening. The explosion took place at the most popular tourist spot in Old Delhi, near Gate Number 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station.

The police statement says the blast occurred at 6:52; a slow-moving vehicle stopped at the red light, and then the explosion took place. An explosion happened in that vehicle, and due to the explosion, nearby vehicles were also damaged.

At least 3 to 4 vehicles parked near the blast site caught fire, and nearly seven fire tender vehicles rushed to the spot. Delhi Police Special Cell has also reached the location, and a high alert has been sounded in the city, according to agency reports. The cause is yet to be known, as an investigation is underway.

Amit Shah has spoken to the Delhi Police Commissioner and the Director of the Intelligence Bureau to take stock of the situation following the blast near Red Fort, ANI sources said. He has also directed the chiefs of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), and the Directorate of Forensic Sciences to rush teams to the site to assist in the probe and collect evidence, they added.

“All agencies—FSL, NIA—are here… Some people have died, and some have been injured in the incident. The situation is being monitored. The Home Minister has also called us, and information is being shared with him from time to time,” he said.

The incident occurred after one Kashmiri doctor was arrested in Faridabad, with 360 kg of explosives and weapons recovered. The accused has been identified as Muzammil Shakeel, a faculty member at Al-Falaha University, they said. A joint team of Faridabad and Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested the doctor, who was also wanted in connection with putting up posters supporting terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar, says police.
