Feb 20, 2025 : In a bold move aimed at garnering national attention, the Delhi Meetei Coordinating Committee (DMCC) has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, inviting him to visit Manipur during his upcoming trip to Guwahati for the Assam Advantage 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit on February 24-25, 2025.
The committee, representing the Meetei community in Delhi, has called for urgent intervention in Manipur’s escalating security situation, citing failures in governance and security management by key officials.
The DMCC’s memorandum highlights critical concerns over the handling of inter-community conflicts and security issues in Manipur.
It calls for the removal of the Union Home Minister, the Security Advisor, and the Chairperson of the Unified Command of Manipur, attributing their alleged ineffectiveness to the worsening crisis.
The committee’s invitation to Prime Minister Modi highlights a plea for direct intervention and leadership in addressing the ongoing challenges faced by the state.
