Delhi Police Commissioner Replaced a Day After Attack on CM Rekha Gupta

A day after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was attacked during a public hearing (‘Jan Sunwai’) at her Civil Lines office, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) appointed IPS officer Satish Golcha as the new Commissioner of Police, Delhi.

According to an official circular, Golcha, a 1992-batch AGMUT cadre officer currently serving as Director General (Prisons), Delhi, will take charge with immediate effect. He replaces SBK Singh, who had been serving as Acting Commissioner of Delhi Police since July 1.

“With the approval of the Competent Authority, Satish Golcha, IPS, is hereby appointed to the post of Commissioner of Police, Delhi with effect from the date of assumption of charge and until further orders,” the MHA notification stated.
