April 8, 2026: Deputy CM Nemcha Kipgen expressed her profound grief and unequivocal condemnation over the tragic death of two toddlers and the injury caused to their mother in Bishnupur district earlier today.
“The loss of such innocent young lives is deeply distressing and wholly unacceptable. Incidents of this nature strike at the very conscience of our society and demand collective introspection and responsibility,” the statement said.
“My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, and I pray that they find strength and solace in this moment of immense sorrow. My thoughts are also with the injured mother, and I wish her a swift recovery,” the Deputy CM stated.
The Deputy CM also expressed her concern over the continuing incidents of firing reported from Ukhrul district. Such acts of violence only serve to exacerbate fear, disrupt normal life, and erode the social fabric of our state, she said.
The Deputy CM urged all concerned to exercise utmost restraint and desist from any actions that could further escalate tensions. At this critical juncture, maintaining peace and safeguarding civilian lives must remain our highest priority.
The Government remains firmly committed to upholding the rule of law, ensuring justice, and fostering an environment of peace, stability, and unity for all communities across the state, it added.
