Destiny Child: Manipur’s Former CM Attends Last ‘Swasti Puja’ in Youth Hostel Relief Camp Marking 201 Safe and Successful Births

Nov 10, 2025 (Imphal): Altogether 201 babies have been safely and successfully delivered, performing their ‘Swasti Puja’/‘Epan Thaba’ at the relief camp opened at the Youth Hostel located in Khuman Lampak. The camp has been open since 21st May 2023, specially run and focused for pregnant women under the initiatives of the BJP OBC Morcha.

Manipur’s former CM N. Biren Singh, on Monday, marking the 201st birth, attended the auspicious ‘Swasti Puja/Epan Thaba,’ which is the ceremony held on the 6th day after birth, at the relief camp to welcome and shower the newborn with blessings for its good health and future.

With today’s ceremony, the camp, which served as a haven for pregnant women IDPs, was gracefully closed, marking the end of the last delivery. The former Chief Minister, before he left his post, opened the relief camp considering the hardships faced by pregnant women and their nutritional requirements and the extra care needed during this phase of their lives.
