The Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Manipur, has declared the results of the Short Film Competition 2025, organized on the theme “Unity in Diversity: Together We Stand Strong.” The competition aimed to harness the power of visual storytelling to raise public awareness on key social issues.
Out of numerous entries received, three films were recognized for their exceptional narratives and cinematic quality. The first prize went to “UNITY IS A BEAUTIFUL SOUND”, directed by Sorenzan Vashum from Ukhrul, Manipur. The second prize was awarded to “IMA”, directed by Shri Dinku Thingnam from Kakching Khunou, while the third prize went to “LAMAN NATTE”, created by Shri Hidangmayum Universe Sharma.
In addition to the top three, two consolation prizes were given to “WE ARE ONE”, directed by Shri Khangjrakpam Ajitkumar Singh from Keirembikhok Mayai Leikai, and “LICHEI (STICK)”, directed by Shri Kabrabam Kumarjit Singh from Champanagar, Jiribam.
All entries were evaluated by a committee comprising renowned filmmakers, subject experts, and representatives from the DIPR, ensuring a fair and thorough assessment.
The Short Film Competition is part of DIPR’s broader initiative to encourage filmmakers, content creators, and the public to produce impactful visual stories that promote social awareness and positive societal change.
