As many as 15 students who were forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing ethnic conflict in Manipur and took refuge in relief camps under Lamlai Assembly Constituency, Imphal East, were felicitated today for successfully clearing their Class 10 and 12 board examinations.
The examinations were conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) and the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM).
Despite the immense personal hardships, including the loss of homes and disruption of normal life, the students emerged victorious, proving their determination and dedication to education.
The felicitation ceremony was hosted by political activist Sapamcha Kangleipal at his residence in Nongada, Imphal East.
The event, though modest in scale, carried immense emotional weight and symbolic importance.
Kangleipal personally congratulated each student and expressed deep admiration for their courage and perseverance during one of the most difficult chapters in the state’s recent history.
Addressing the students, Kangleipal urged them to remain strong and never lose hope, despite having their homes reduced to ashes. “You are the hope of not just your families, but of the entire Lamlai constituency,” he said.
He further cautioned them against choosing the wrong path out of frustration or despair, and instead encouraged them to walk the path of education and integrity.
Reassuring the displaced students of his continued support, Kangleipal also pledged assistance for their higher education.
He expressed optimism that many of these young individuals from the relief camps in Lamlai AC would one day go on to crack prestigious civil service examinations like UPSC and MPSC, and bring laurels not only to their constituency but to the entire state.
