Officials from the District Administration of Senapati, along with Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs), recently conducted an inspection of various schools under the Zonal Education Office and the Autonomous District Council in Senapati.
The inspection aimed to assess the overall functioning of schools, implementation of the PM Poshan Maah (Mid-Day Meal) scheme, infrastructure conditions, and other key aspects. During the visit, officials interacted with teachers and school management boards to address grievances regarding inadequate infrastructure, lack of electrification, poor drinking water facilities, sanitation issues, and non-payment of cooking staff.
While some schools were found to be functioning efficiently despite challenges, several lacked basic amenities. Disturbingly, some schools had no teachers or students, while many were running solely with substitute teachers. Officials assured that further inspections would be conducted in the coming days to address these issues.
