Feb 19, 2025: The District Bar Association Bishnupur marked its 34th Foundation Day at the Bar Hall of the District & Sessions Court Complex in Bishnupur.
The event was attended by various dignitaries, including District & Sessions Judge Bishnupur, Nongthombam Keertichand, and President of the District Bar Association Bishnupur, Wahengbam Lata.
Other notable attendees included Retired Director of Prosecution, Angom Nilachandra; Public Prosecutor of Fast Track Court (I) Imphal, Tongbram Bipinchandra; and Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel from different regions.
The event began with a tribute to the departed founders of the association, observing a minute of silence in remembrance of their contributions, which helped lay a strong foundation for the association’s progress.
Speakers during the event highlighted the pivotal role of the District Bar Association in strengthening the justice delivery system and upholding legal principles. They also stressed the importance of continued dedication to legal service and the improvement of the association.
District & Sessions Judge Bishnupur, Nongthombam Keertichand, acknowledged the significant contributions of the legal professionals of Bishnupur District and praised the association’s efforts.
Wahengbam Lata, President of the District Bar Association, emphasized the strong coordination between the Bar and the Bench and encouraged continued support from the legal community in fulfilling its responsibilities toward society.
