Kakching 23rd, December : As part of Good Governance Week 2025 under the Prashasan Gaon Ki Ore campaign, the District Administration Kakching organised a district-level workshop on December 23 at the DC Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Kakching.
Addressing the gathering, Additional Deputy Commissioner P. Shantikumar Singh highlighted the objectives of Good Governance Week and called upon district officials to strengthen grievance redressal mechanisms and improve efficiency in public service delivery. He encouraged district-level officers to perform proactively in their respective sectors.
The workshop featured presentations from key departments, including the District Social Welfare Office, Zonal Education Office, and District Health Society. The District Social Welfare Office presented updates on the implementation of schemes under the National Social Assistance Programme and state-sponsored initiatives such as the Manipur Old Age Pension Scheme, Chief Minister’s Widow Pension Scheme, Marriage Incentive Allowance for Differently-Abled Couples, and Unemployment Allowance for Persons with Disabilities.
The Zonal Education Office outlined progress under programmes including Samagra Shiksha, PM Poshan (Mid-Day Meal), NEPUN Bharat Mission, Inclusive Education, Community Mobilisation, Vidya Pravesh, and Vidyanjali. Meanwhile, the Chief Medical Officer briefed participants on ongoing health programmes and recent developments in healthcare infrastructure across the district.
A short film on the Serou Water Supply Scheme was screened, highlighting the commissioning of a 0.54 MLD Water Treatment Plant constructed by the Public Health Engineering Department and funded under the New Development Bank project to provide safe drinking water.
The workshop was attended by assistant commissioners to the deputy commissioner and district-level officers of Kakching district, reinforcing a collective commitment to transparent and effective governance.
