March 14, 2025: In a decisive move against illegal arms trading, Tamenglong District Magistrate, Dr. L. Angshim Dangshaw, has issued a stern directive.
All arms license holders are instructed to deposit their licenses for verification or renewal by April 12, 2025.
The initiative aims to curb the circulation of fake licenses and ensure compliance with the Arms Rules, 2016, according to an office memorandum.
Concerns over unauthorized transactions have prompted local authorities to intensify efforts, urging both license holders and dealers to authenticate details through a centralized government portal.
Law enforcement agencies are called upon to report any suspicious activity, reinforcing the district’s commitment to maintaining public safety and regulatory integrity.
