Tengnoupal, November 26: The District Level Committee (DLC) under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme organized an awareness programme for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) along with a Udyam registration drive on Wednesday at the Khangshim Village Community Hall, Tengnoupal district.
The event, initiated by the General Manager – District Industries Centre, Manipur, was attended by prominent dignitaries including Md. Asghar Arzad, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tengnoupal; Th. Bijoy Singh, DLC-RAMP Chairperson and General Manager of DIC Tengnoupal; Y. Ibochou Singh, Lead District Manager; and Angshem Tontang, Chairman of Khangshim Village.
During the session, Th. Bijoy Singh highlighted the benefits of the RAMP project and the importance of Udyam registration for MSMEs to access various government benefits. He emphasized that RAMP enhances MSME performance by improving access to finance and markets, promoting innovation and technology adoption, encouraging sustainable practices, and strengthening institutional support.
Y. Ibochou Singh, Lead District Manager, delivered a keynote speech on financial literacy, discussing the role of financial institutions in supporting MSMEs and facilitating access to RAMP scheme benefits. He also highlighted various flagship programmes offering loans, insurance, and other opportunities.
The programme concluded with a short speech by ADC Md. Asghar Arzad, who encouraged the committee for organizing such events and appealed to the public to avail the maximum benefits from the services and schemes provided by the government. This was followed by Udyam registration for participants.
The event was attended by members of village authorities, representatives of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and villagers, reflecting a collective effort to empower local MSMEs.
