Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) on Monday launched Artificial Intelligence Enabled Real-Time Environmental Monitoring, a new academic volume highlighting the use of advanced technology in tackling environmental challenges.
The book was released at the DMU campus by Vice-Chancellor Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Registrar Dr. R. K. Joteen Singh, and Finance Officer Rojendrakar Nongthomba, in the presence of faculty members, students, and environmental experts. Head of Department Koijam Manibusan Singh outlined the book’s key themes.
Published by Springer, the 281-page book is edited by Dr. Binota Thokchom (DMU), Dr. Rishemjit Kaur (CSIR-CSIO), Dr. Pardeep Singh (University of Delhi), and Dr. Pengpeng Qiu (Donghua University).
The book explores AI and IoT applications in air and water quality monitoring, waste management, disaster response, sustainable agriculture, urban planning, and climate forecasting, while also addressing ethical and technical challenges.
The Vice-Chancellor stressed the book’s relevance to Manipur’s biodiversity conservation and climate resilience, calling it a step forward in linking regional research with global sustainability efforts.
