Union Minister JM Scindia left Imphal after short sojourn and called on Manipur governor for meeting

After a 7-hour sojourn, the Ministry of Communication and Union DoNER Minister left Imphal after calling on the Manipur Governor A.K. Bhalla. Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, who landed in Imphal at around 1:30 PM, went straight to Raj Bhavan and called on the Manipur Governor.
The Union Minister also held a brief meeting with the Governor of Manipur to review the implementation of DoNER schemes and projects.

During his visit, Scindia met with Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the Chief Secretary, and other senior government officials. One of the key engagements included participation in the High-Level Task Force meeting on Sports, chaired by the Governor at Raj Bhavan.

Although the exact details of the discussions and agenda of the meetings remain undisclosed, sources had earlier indicated that the visit was intended to review various ongoing development projects in the state. Upon his arrival at the airport, Scindia briefly mentioned to the media that his visit was aimed at assessing developmental works and promised to address the media following his meetings. However, despite media personnel waiting outside Raj Bhavan, the Union Minister did not offer any briefing before leaving for the airport.

Jyotiraditya Scindia is the second Union Minister from the Modi Cabinet to visit Manipur after the state was placed under President’s Rule. Earlier, on April 9, Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth had visited the state.
