The 11th Dr. Thingnam Kishan Memorial Lecture, organized by the Dr. Thingnam Kishan Foundation, was held at the Imphal Public Library hall in Imphal West.
The lecture focused on the theme “Archaeology as a Source of Understanding the Culture of Manipur.”
The event featured distinguished speakers including Archaeologist Okram Kumar Singh from the School of Humanities, Manipur University; Retired Dean Professor Soyam Lokendrajit Singh from the Department of Philosophy, DM College of Arts; Assistant Professor Michael Singh Samjetsabam; and Researcher-Dancer Chabungbam Babina Devi.
Highlighting the significance of archaeology in uncovering Manipur’s cultural heritage, discussions delved into various issues including historical narratives and the interpretation of archaeological evidence.
Dr. Homen Thangjam, Trustee Member of the Dr. Thingnam Kishan Foundation, emphasised the foundation’s commitment to preserving and promoting cultural studies in the region.
