Economic Revival Mission Transforms Lives Across Manipur: Villagers Showcase Success to Former CM Biren Singh

In a showcase of grassroots empowerment, beneficiaries of the Economic Revival Mission, which was launched by the then government under the leadership of former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, presented a wide range of locally made products, from edible goods to traditional handicrafts, as a mark of appreciation for the initiative that has revitalized livelihoods across Manipur.

The exhibition served as a testament to the Mission’s impact on women and youth from various corners of the state, including villages such as Khangabok, Pangei, Kumbi, Mongsangei, Wangoo Terakhong, Tronglaobi, Leimaram Relief Camp, Saiton IDP families, Nongpok Kakching, Waiton, Mayang Imphal, and Sekmaijin.

Villagers shared their personal success stories, crediting the initiative for enabling them to earn sustainable incomes, revive local craftsmanship, and restore economic stability in post-conflict settings.

Many noted how the Mission had brought hope and dignity back to their lives.

Former CM Biren Singh, visibly moved by the overwhelming support, stated that the government ensured that communities across both the hills and the valley received balanced development.

“The continued appreciation I receive from people in both the hills and the valley reaffirms that inclusive development is not just a vision. It’s a lived reality,” he said.
