Eid-ul-Zuha, also known as Bakrid, was observed with devotion and joy across Manipur on Saturday, June 7. At Hafiz Hatta Masjid in Hatta Golapati, Imphal East — one of the notable sites — a large number of Muslim (Meitei Pangal) devotees gathered early in the morning to offer the special Eid namaz. The day began with prayers, warm greetings, and the spirit of togetherness.
Celebrations were also held in many other parts of the state where Muslim (Meitei Pangal) communities reside, marking the occasion with traditional rituals and communal harmony.
Speaking to the media after the prayer, the Imam of Hafiz Hatta Masjid said:
“Eid-ul-Zuha reminds us of sacrifice, compassion, and the importance of helping those in need. It is a day to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and humanity.”
He further added that he sincerely prays for peace and understanding to return to Manipur.
