Fatal Accident Takes Two Lives

Thoubal, November 12: Two people were killed in two separate road accidents that occurred under the jurisdiction of Thoubal Police Station on Wednesday.

The first incident took place at around 11:10 a.m. near Charu Mandop, Khullakpam Leikai, Khangabok, where a Royal Enfield motorcycle (MN04 G 9869) and an auto-rickshaw collided, resulting in the death of the auto-rickshaw driver.

The deceased has been identified as Laishram Ingocha Singh (52), son of late Mohon, from Khangabok Part (I) Awang Leikai near Bangshibudon Temple. The Royal Enfield rider was identified as Thokchom Safaba (21), son of Sova, from Khangabok Mayai Leikai. He was rushed to District Hospital Thoubal for treatment.

The second accident occurred at around 1:20 p.m. near the gate of Thoubal District Hospital along the Imphal–Moreh National Highway (NH-102).

In this accident, two Honda Activa scooters collided head-on, resulting in the death of one person. Three others were injured and received first aid at Thoubal District Hospital before being referred to RIMS, Imphal, for further treatment.

The deceased was identified as Leimapokpam Ingo (52), son of Angou, from Athokpam Awang Leikai. He was riding a Honda Activa along with his wife Nimita (50).

The second scooter involved in the collision was ridden by Thiyam Lanthoibi (20), daughter of Manao, from Wangjing Awang Leikai, and her pillion rider was Kangabam Gitanjali Devi (27), wife of Romesh, from Yairipok.
