In an effort to alleviate the hardships faced by farmers due to the prolonged crisis in Manipur, the COCOMI Farmer Wing, in collaboration with AMPFA, KAPFA, LOUSAL, LALLUP, LOYALUP, and the Department of Agriculture, organized a significant distribution event at the Phumlou Community Hall.
The event witnessed the presence of COCOMI Farmers Wing Convenor Elangbam, Agriculture Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Sinha, Imphal West DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar, and other key officials. Essential agricultural inputs, including fertilizers and paddy seeds, were disbursed to farmers.
The initiative aims to rejuvenate farming activities and restore livelihoods impacted by the crisis.
Speaking on the occasion, Elangbam highlighted the critical role of these inputs in revitalizing agricultural production amidst challenging circumstances. He emphasized the need for sustained support to ensure farmers can recover and thrive in the face of ongoing challenges, particularly those farmers in Imphal West, Imphal East, Kakching, and Bishnupur districts.
