Feb. 4, 2025: The Federation of Indigenous People’s Democratic Movement (FIDM) has indefinitely banned Vihaan Direct Selling India Private Limited, also known as Q-NET, in Manipur.
The decision comes in response to concerns raised by FIDM President Wahengbam Shanta Meitei regarding the company’s business practices.
Shanta Meitei criticized Q-NET for promoting a multi-level marketing (MLM) model that he believes is unsuitable for Manipur’s economically disadvantaged population.
Allegedly, Q-NET targets vulnerable groups such as job seekers and individuals from remote areas, promising them lucrative job opportunities and high investment returns.
Shanta Meitei accused the company of employing deceptive tactics to persuade people to invest significant amounts of money without fulfilling its promises.
He urged relevant authorities to take stronger action to prevent the proliferation of such fraudulent schemes in Manipur and safeguard its citizens from exploitation.
