Feb 13, 2026 (TBL): A one-day sensitisation programme on Central and State Government schemes, initiatives, and financial literacy was held on Friday at Koshang Community Hall, Khangshim Village, Tengnoupal District.
The programme was sponsored by the Directorate of Handlooms and Textiles, Government of Manipur, and organised by the District Handlooms and Textiles Office, Tengnoupal District.
SDO/BDO Tengnoupal and Machi, Md. Nazmul Huda Khan, inaugurated the programme. Project Manager (Handloom) Shoibam Heramani Singh presided over the event. Deputy Director (Handloom), Directorate of Handlooms and Textiles, Thokchom Basanta Singh, and SBI Kongsang Deputy Manager Larneireng Jachi were also present.
As part of the event, looms and accessories were distributed to beneficiaries under the National Handloom Development Programme, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
Moreover, the Tengnoupal Small Cluster Development Programme was also conducted during the event. In his chief guest address, Md. Nazmul Huda Khan highlighted the importance of the handloom and textile sectors, urging people to contribute to their development. He appealed to the community to work together with the Directorate of Handlooms and Textiles and banks to strengthen the sector.
