March 17, 2025: At least two fire incidents were reported in Imphal last night, causing significant concern among local authorities.
The first incident occurred at around 8 PM in Lilong Usoipokpi, where a grocery and pharmacy store were engulfed in flames.
The Fire Stations in Imphal and Thoubal responded promptly, deploying fire tenders from both stations. The fire was eventually brought under control, and no casualties were reported.
The second fire broke out at approximately 11 PM in a storeroom in Khabam Lamkhai, Imphal East. The local Fire Station in Imphal dispatched two fire tenders to the scene.
Authorities worked swiftly to contain the blaze, and thankfully, there were no reports of injuries or further damage.
Both incidents have prompted the fire departments to remain on high alert as investigations continue into the causes of the fires.
