Altogether five people, including a woman, were arrested from Tadubi Checkpoint along NH-2 this afternoon for possessing 2.057 kgs of brown sugar concealed inside 187 soap cases. The contraband was hidden in the rooftops of two Gypsies. The drugs were seized, and the accused persons were presented before the Executive Magistrate for observing formalities.
The arrested persons have been identified as:
- Azhanii Amos (35), s/o (L) Lohrii of Tunggam village, PS Tungjoy, Senapati District.
- Pavei Peter (25), s/o (L) Hriinii of Tunggam village, PS Tungjoy, Senapati District.
- Trioa Sebastian (25), s/o (L) Sheba of Tunggam village, PS Tungjoy, Senapati District.
- Pfokrehrii @ Akho (35), s/o (L) Kajung of Makhan Khuman village, PO/PS Maram, Senapati District.
- K. Athini Sarah (43), w/o Ch. Loli of Makhrelui village, PO/PS Senapati.
The team seized 187 soap cases of brown sugar weighing 2.057 kgs, two white Gypsies bearing registration numbers NL-06-C-1733 and NL-06-C-0001, along with five mobile phones from their possession.
A case has been registered at Tadubi Police Station under relevant sections of the ND&PS Act for investigation.
