Floor Curling Championship Concluded, IE Became the Overall Team Champion

Thoubal, March 30: The three-day 1st Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior State Level Floor Curling Coaching Camp and Championship 2025–26, organised by the Amateur Curling Association of Sanaleibak, concluded on Monday. The championship had been ongoing since the 28th of this month at the Yairipok Tulihal Multipurpose Community Hall.

Imphal East emerged as the overall champion of the championship. A total of 107 male and female players from Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Kakching, and Tengnoupal districts competed across three categories.

Imphal East secured 6 gold, 7 silver, and 10 bronze medals, totalling 71 points. Thoubal obtained 2 gold, 5 silver, and 6 bronze medals, with 37 points. Imphal West earned 4 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals, accumulating 34 points, thus becoming the team champion, runners-up, and 2nd runners-up respectively.

At the closing ceremony of the championship, Raees Ahmed Tampak, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Manipur Creative School (MCS) Dewlahland, attended as Chief Guest, and General Secretary of United Meitei Pangal Committee Manipur, Advocate Md Zakir Hussain, as President, while Kongbam Jackson, Social Worker from Andro AC; Mohammad Ajmal Hussain, Panel Advocate of Manipur State Legal Services Authority and High Court Legal Services Committee; Dr Abdul Rahaman, Assistant Professor from the Department of PESS, Manipur University; and Nongsaibam Sanjit, Chairman and Managing Director of Sahil Foundation, Tulihal, attended as Guests of Honour.

Trophies and certificates were presented to the winners of the championship, and appreciation and encouragement were expressed.
