March 9, 2025: The Federation of Civil Society Organisations (FOCS) Manipur President, Th. Manihar, has tendered his resignation today, taking moral responsibility for the statement he made to the public that Manipur belongs to Meitei and Naga and for not properly mentioning other indigenous communities of Manipur, especially Meitei-Pangal.
He also informed that his statement has offended the sentiments of many people, especially the Meitei-Pangal community, for not mentioning it. Manihar also stated that he will continue to support all the activities of FOCS, especially for peaceful coexistence among the ethnic communities and for activities related to bringing peace to Manipur.
