The Federation of Civil Society Organizations (FOCS), Manipur, expresses profound grief and pain over the loss of two young cabin crew members from Manipur who were on board the ill-fated Air India flight (AI 171) yesterday. FOCS said it also shares the heartfelt pain and sorrow of both families of the two young sisters — Kongbrailatpam Nganthoi Sharma from Thoubal Awang Leikai and Lamnunthem Singson from Kangpokpi.
FOCS also stated, “May the souls of the two sisters, who met the tragic incident, rest peacefully in heavenly abode, and may the grief shared by all bind us together in unity and harmony in Manipur against those outsiders who try to challenge Manipur’s unity.”
FOCS further said that in this unpredictable human life, it believes that helping each other and living together in harmony during our lifetime can bring lasting peace, as experienced in the past.
