The Federation of Civil Society (FOCS), Manipur marked the observance of Mother’s Day, which is now observed globally to honour the mother of the family or individual, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.
FOCS Manipur marked this year’s Mother’s Day celebration with a community interaction at Kasom Khunou under Kamjong District of Manipur, organised by the Kasom Khunou Development Committee on Monday. The FOCS team, headed by its Acting President BM Yaima, joined the celebration along with other members of civil society organisations from the valley districts of Manipur.
The function was attended by BM Yaima Shah, Acting President, FOCS; Ajen Siro, Chairman, KKSL; L. Memma, Secretary, MKNM; T. Demona, Secretary General, MWF; and Th. Manihar, Former President, FOCS, who participated as important dignitaries of the function.
Speaking at the function, Acting President of the Federation of Civil Society (FOCS) Yaima Shah emphasized the importance of unity and positive transformation through community engagement. He highlighted that the active involvement of community members is crucial for progress and development, particularly in remote areas.
Yaima Shah remarked that the recognition of local values and the integration of traditional practices would foster significant advancements. He also pointed out that despite challenges, a collective effort can lead to better opportunities and positive changes.
During the community interaction held at Kasom Khunou, locals discussed ways to improve community welfare and economic opportunities. The discussion emphasized the importance of supporting marginalized groups and promoting the concept of a unified Manipur.
Yaima Shah also addressed the need for Kasom Khunou to be recognized as a separate revenue district, emphasizing that state-level initiatives and welfare schemes must be efficiently implemented to benefit the local population. He encouraged the community to actively participate in initiatives that promote socio-economic growth and well-being.
