March 19, 2025: Tengnoupal Forest Division organized a Foot Rally ahead of the upcoming International Day of Forests, 2025, at Tengnoupal District Headquarters.
The rally was inaugurated by Krishna Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Tengnoupal District, and Mahamuda Begum, Divisional Forest Officer of Tengnoupal Forest Division, in the presence of Rahul Gupta, Superintendent of Police, Tengnoupal District, Col. Shishir Pandey from 3AR, SK John Lamkang, Deputy SP (HQ) Tengnoupal, and Vijay Singh from D/124 Bn, Ad hoc M&C XIII, along with teachers and students from St. Peter’s School and Maha High School, Tengnoupal.
The event saw participation from personnel of 3 AR, District Police, BSF D/124 Bn, and students from various schools across the district.
Tree plantation activities were conducted by dignitaries, teachers, and students.
The program concluded with a presentation and interactive session led by the Divisional Forest Officer on the theme “Forest and Food,” emphasizing forests as crucial for global food security and nutrition, supporting millions of families and indigenous communities. The officer stressed the urgent need to protect and restore these ecosystems, highlighting their vital role in safeguarding the planet and future generations.
