20 Jan 2025 : The foundation laying ceremony for a Fire Service Sub-Station at Sawombung in Imphal East was held on Monday by Lamlai Assembly Constituency MLA Kh. Ibomcha.
Speaking at the ceremony, which took place at the Sawombung SDO Office complex, MLA Ibomcha expressed optimism that the new facility would significantly enhance safety measures in the region and serve the public effectively.
The event was attended by Imphal East Deputy Commissioner Khumanthem Diana and Fire Service Director L. Nabachandra, along with other officials. Director Nabachandra emphasized the Manipur Fire Service’s commitment to strengthening its infrastructure to ensure prompt and efficient responses to emergencies. He also highlighted the importance of community support in improving the service’s outreach and operational efficiency.
In his address, MLA Ibomcha noted that the establishment of the Fire Service Sub-Station was a crucial step toward improving regional safety. He also highlighted several ongoing developmental initiatives in Lamlai, including a sewerage project, the construction of an Ayush hospital, and other infrastructure upgrades.
Furthermore, MLA Ibomcha proposed upgrading Biramangol College in Sawombung into a multi-storied structure to elevate it to international standards. He urged the public to support these developmental efforts, regardless of political affiliation, and expressed confidence in Chief Minister N. Biren’s leadership to ensure balanced growth across constituencies.
