Four CKMA Militants Nabbed in Churachandpur for Extortion and Weapon Smuggling

In an intensified crackdown on extortion rackets in Manipur, four suspected cadres of the Chin Kuki Mizo Army (CKMA), a non-SoO group, were arrested during a joint intelligence-based operation by security forces on June 3 in the Kerith village area under Rengkai, Churachandpur district.

The arrested individuals were allegedly involved in illegal arms smuggling, issuing extortion demands, and threatening civilians at gunpoint. Identified as Samuel Kamninhao (21) of Singhat village, Hegun Seimingun (21) and Thangminhou Touthang (22), both from E Cananphai village, and Mangkhohao Touthang (38) from Thangbuh village in Bishnupur district, the group is believed to have played an active role in organized criminal activities across the region.

Security forces also recovered two live 9 mm rounds and three mobile phones from their possession.
