Security forces arrested four active cadres of the banned outfit KCP (Apunba City Meitei) from Salungpham Mamang Leikai near Bazar under Heirok Police Station in Thoubal District.
The arrested individuals were reportedly involved in extorting money from various establishments across Thoubal District, including brick fields, sawmills, banks, hospitals, schools, colleges, oil pumps, shops, stone crushers, and contractors.
The arrested have been identified as Md. Saruk Khan (34) and Sangomsumbam Akhter Ahamed (29), both from Thoubal Wangkhem Muslim; Kongjengbam Kumarjit Singh (41) from Nambol Leimapokpam Awang Leikai, Bishnupur; and Laishram Joymangol Singh (47) from Kairembikhok Mamang Leikai, Thoubal.
Seized from their possession were one .32 pistol with magazine and three live rounds, three 36 HE hand grenades, five mobile handsets, one four-wheeler, and two two-wheelers.
