Thoubal, May 8, 2025: In a continued effort to curb extortion and militancy in the state, security forces apprehended four active members of the proscribed outfit KCP (MFL) from Lamding Khumanthem Leikai under Thoubal Police Station, Thoubal District.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ningthoujam Amitra Singh @ Avatar (29) of Khodrak Nomngmaikhong Awang Leikai, Phairembam Manglemnganba Meitei @ Pibarel (21) of Lamlongei, Chesaba Umar Ali (22) of Irong Chesaba, and Yumnam Angaosana Singh @ Thoibi (21) of Tronglaobi Makha Leikai.
The group was allegedly involved in multiple cases of extortion, kidnapping, and monetary demands from banks, government offices, and individuals.
During the operation, security personnel seized one country-made 9 mm pistol with magazine, three live rounds, one No. 36 HE hand grenade, four mobile phones, and five SIM cards from their possession.
Further investigation and operations are underway to trace other associates and dismantle the network.
