Free Eye Camp Conducted at Kakching

A free eye screening camp was held on Saturday at Naodam Bazar Community Hall, Kakching, through the joint efforts of Dr. Helena Eye Hospital and Institute, Imphal, social worker Kshetrimayum Kennedy, and the Peoples’ Museum Kakching.

Addressing participants at the event, social worker Kshetrimayum Kennedy emphasized the importance of eye health, noting that vision-related conditions often go undetected until they reach a critical stage. He stressed that regular check-ups and timely access to medical facilities can help prevent such problems.

Mayanglambam Merina, Secretary of the Peoples’ Museum Kakching, expressed appreciation to all contributors and confirmed that similar health initiatives would be organized again in the future.

During the camp, patients received free consultations and necessary support, including arrangements for eye surgeries at no cost. In total, approximately 250 people benefited from the check-ups provided during the day.
