Free Medical and Deafness Screening Camp Held in Pherzawl to Reach Underserved Villages

A one-day Free Medical Camp-cum-Deafness Screening was organized today by the District Health Society, Pherzawl District, at Tuolbung Upper Primary School under the ongoing Sardar@150 initiative, aiming to provide essential healthcare services to remote communities.

Led by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hmanglamkhup Kom, the medical team—comprising three doctors and several health workers—attended to around 212 patients, offering medical consultations and distributing medicines free of cost.

Alongside the general medical check-up, an ENT unit headed by Dr. Tunlalmuan conducted free screening for hearing impairment. Out of 32 individuals examined, four were identified with symptoms of potential hearing disabilities and were advised for further follow-up and medical care.

Officials noted that the initiative seeks to strengthen healthcare outreach and ensure early detection of hearing-related issues in rural areas.
