Over 150 Internally Displaced Persons Receive Medical Consultations and Free Medicines
Bishnupur, August 31, 2025: A Mega Health Camp was conducted today at Moirang College Relief Camp to provide medical support to internally displaced persons (IDPs). The initiative, led by ASKSUR Academy with support from SEWA Health Link, was organized in collaboration with the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and the District Administration, Bishnupur, under the Swachhta Action Plan 2025-26.
A team of eight doctors covering specialties including General Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dermatology, and Paediatrics offered consultations and distributed free medicines to the beneficiaries.
Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur highlighted the importance of regular health check-ups, raising awareness about the growing incidence of non-communicable diseases, and encouraged IDPs to adopt healthier lifestyles through a balanced diet and exercise. She also praised ASKSUR Academy for its social welfare initiatives and urged continued efforts to inspire younger generations.
The camp benefited over 150 IDPs, providing essential healthcare services at one of the district’s largest relief camps.
