The District Administration Kakching conducted a full dress rehearsal today at the District Sports Association (DSA) Ground, Kakching Turel Wangma, as part of preparations for the 79th Independence Day celebrations.
The parade was commanded by Ng. Suresh Anthony, MPS, SDPO Sugnu, featuring 26 contingents including Border Security Force, Manipur Rifles, Indian Reserve Battalion, Civil Police, Village Defence Force, Traffic Police, ICDS, ASHA workers, and several school groups such as Assam Rifles Public School, Kakching Model High School, Kakching Higher Secondary School, Grace Cottage Academy, Victory High School, Kakching Public School, MM Genius Academy, Padma Ratna English School, and MMS Boys.
Four cultural troupes performed during the rehearsal, with a total of nine set to perform on Independence Day. The event on August 15 will also feature a mock drill by the Indian Red Cross Society Kakching and a yoga demonstration by Kakching District Yogasana Sports Association.
Deputy Commissioner Rohit Anand, IAS, will hoist the national flag and take the salute from the march-past contingents during the main celebration.
