The State Government has released a total of Rs 186 Crore specifically for the support of IDPs in relief camps and their permanent housing. From the total released amount, Rs 161 Crore is for the support of internally displaced persons (IDPs), and Rs 25 Crore is for permanent housing.
In this financial year, massive support was received from the Central Government in different sectors, including Rs 217 Crore from the Ministry of Home Affairs as support for relief and rehabilitation measures for those displaced.
It may be mentioned here that nearly over 60,000 people were displaced due to the conflict that started on May 3, 2023. Many were forced to flee their homes, and many still continue to reside in relief camps and pre-fabricated houses set up by the government.
