Kakching, December 22, 2025: The Kakching District Administration marked Good Governance Week with a series of citizen-focused initiatives aimed at improving access to government services and strengthening grievance redressal mechanisms.
Special camps were organised at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex in Kakching headquarters by the Sub-Divisional Officer and Block Development Officer. Multiple government departments, including SDO/BDO Kakching, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, District Handlooms and Textiles, and PWD Kakching Division, set up stalls to address public grievances and deliver on-the-spot services.
A major highlight of the programme was a cataract detection camp for senior citizens conducted under the Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana. Organised by the District Social Welfare Office in collaboration with Medilane Foundation, Imphal Eye Clinic, and Kakching Eye Hospital, the camp screened 47 participants. Those requiring surgery will be treated at Kakching Eye Hospital, while others will receive free spectacles, with all expenses covered by the department.
Similar outreach camps will be held on December 24 at Kakching Khunou (KBM) and the Sugnu Municipality Office in Sugnu Bazar. In addition, district-level workshops were conducted by departments including PWD Kakching Division, District Fishery Office, and ICDS Project.
Separately, a two-day Entrepreneurship Knowledge Programme under the RAMP initiative was inaugurated at the Kakching Municipal Council to support aspiring entrepreneurs and strengthen MSME performance in the district.
