31st May, 2025, Imphal (DIPR):
Senior officials from the Home Department, Police, and Relief & Disaster Management conducted an aerial inspection of the flood-affected areas in Imphal East district today. The inspection, carried out using a helicopter, enabled the team to have a comprehensive view of the most impacted zones. This has helped the inspection team to assess the extent of the damage and the urgent needs of the affected population.
It is a part of the multi-pronged strategy initiated by the State Government, which is working round-the-clock (24×7) to control and mitigate the effects of the ongoing flood. The authorities are coordinating with all relevant departments and agencies to ensure the provision of timely relief and rehabilitation efforts. Essential services such as water supply, sanitation, healthcare, and emergency shelter are being prioritized to support the affected population.
As Manipur received heavy rainfall continuously, necessary instructions have been passed to all Deputy Commissioners to be alert and take all necessary measures to provide relief to affected people and take steps to clear landslides.
The emergency control room number – 0385-2451550 – may be contacted for issues related to flood and rain.
The Government also appeals to the residents to stay vigilant and follow the safety guidelines issued by the authorities. Updates on the situation will be provided regularly.
