The Government of Manipur is all set to act tough on any kind of extortion-related activities in Manipur, and an Integrated Anti-Extortion Cell within the Home Department has been set up, bringing together members from the State Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and Assam Rifles/Indian Army to work in unison against extortion activities across the State.
According to a press statement from Home Commissioner-cum-Secretary N Ashok, everyone, including government employees, is encouraged to promptly report such incidents and cooperate fully with the authorities. The Integrated Anti-Extortion Cell will respond quickly by coordinating with relevant police stations and security forces to take effective measures.
The Anti-Extortion Cell has also set up a toll-free helpline, 1800 202 3326, through which any person can report such incidents and cooperate fully with the authorities.
