March 19, 2025 :The Government of Manipur has approved the transfer of eight Principals and Professors to various colleges in the state as part of efforts to implement the Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The ITEP is a four-year dual-major degree program (B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed./B.Com. B.Ed.), which will be the minimum qualification for school teachers from pre-primary to higher secondary levels by 2030.
In the latest round of transfers:
- Dr. W. Shambhunath Singh, previously the in-charge Principal of Standard College, Kongba, has been appointed as the in-charge Principal of Nambol L. Sanoi College, Nambol, Bishnupur district.
- Prof. Mairembam Suresh Singh, formerly the Principal of South East Manipur College, Komlathabi, Chandel, has been transferred to Standard College, Kongba, Imphal East, as Principal.
- Kh. Dineshkumar Singh, previously serving as an Associate Professor at DMCTE, has been appointed as the in-charge Principal of South East Manipur College, Komlathabi, Chandel.
- Dr. R.K. Lokendra Singh, an Associate Professor and the in-charge Principal at DMCTE, has been moved to S. Kula Women’s College, Nambol, as the in-charge Principal.
- Prof. W. Jyotirmoy Singh, formerly the Principal of Nambol L. Sanoi College, has now been appointed as the Principal of DMCTE.
- Dr. W. Robindro Singh, previously the in-charge Principal of S. Kula Women’s College, Nambol, has been appointed as an Assistant Professor at the same college.
- Dr. Rajkumar Hemanta Singh, formerly the in-charge Principal of M.B. College, Imphal, has been appointed as Professor at United College, Chandel.
- Dr. Bhabananda Singh T., previously the Principal of Y.K. College, Wangjing, has been transferred to M.B. College, Imphal, as Principal.
- Prof. Kh. Jugindro Singh, a Professor at Thoubal College, has been appointed as the in-charge Principal of Y.K. College, Wangjing.
These transfers are part of the state government’s efforts to ensure that Manipur’s higher education institutions are prepared for the roll-out of the ITEP.
