The 10th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day–2026 was observed in Imphal with Governor of Manipur Ajay Kumar Bhalla honouring 53 distinguished and gallantry award–winning veterans and Veer Naris at a ceremony held at the Palace Auditorium, MSFDS.
Speaking at the event, the Governor emphasised that Veterans’ Day stands as a reminder of the immense sacrifices made by members of the armed forces to safeguard the nation’s unity, sovereignty, and democratic ideals. He expressed enduring gratitude to veterans, ex-servicemen, and their families for their lifelong service to the country.
Highlighting Manipur’s strong military legacy, Bhalla praised the people of the state for their outstanding contribution to national defence and border security. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of serving personnel and veterans, citing initiatives related to healthcare assistance, pension benefits, resettlement programmes, and skill development.
The programme was attended by MLA Th Biswajit Singh, Chief Secretary Puneet Kumar Goel, Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, senior civil and police officials, senior officers from the armed forces and paramilitary forces, and a large gathering of veterans and ex-servicemen.
