Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla Urges MTU Students to Lead Courageously at 10th Foundation Day

Governor of Manipur and Chancellor of Manipur Technical University (MTU), Ajay Kumar Bhalla, today called upon students to “think deeply, act responsibly, and lead courageously” as the university celebrated its 10th Foundation Day at Takyelpat, Imphal.

Addressing faculty, students, alumni, and dignitaries, the Governor lauded MTU’s remarkable growth since its establishment in 2016 as the first state-run technical university in Manipur. He praised its alignment with the National Education Policy 2020 and its progress toward becoming a hub for innovation, research, and industry collaboration in the region.

The Governor highlighted MTU’s plans to introduce advanced courses in Artificial Intelligence, Renewable Energy, Robotics, and Data Science, positioning the institution to prepare youth for leadership in emerging technologies. He described MTU as “a visionary seed planted for the self-reliant future of Manipur,” urging collective efforts from all stakeholders to develop the campus into a green, smart, and inclusive model of excellence for the North-East.

The event was attended by Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Vice Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University; Ramananda Nongmeikapam, Registrar of MTU; senior officers, faculty members, and students.
