Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, visited the National Sports University (NSU) campus at Koutruk, Imphal West, to assess the ongoing construction and development of the university infrastructure.
During the visit, the Governor inspected various construction sites within the campus and chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress and challenges associated with the project. Key issues such as power supply, water access, land acquisition, and road connectivity were discussed in detail.
Representatives from NBCC (India) Limited presented a comprehensive briefing on the current status of the project, including construction timelines, upcoming phases, and long-term expansion plans. The meeting was attended by the Joint Secretary from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India; Secretary to the Governor; Vice Chancellor of NSU; Commissioners; Secretaries; Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West; and other senior officials associated with the project.
Governor Bhalla urged all stakeholders to expedite the work and ensure completion within the stipulated deadline.
Following the meeting, the Governor held an interactive session with students of NSU, where he addressed various concerns and suggestions related to academics, infrastructure, and career opportunities. As part of his visit, he also planted a Kusum tree on the campus, contributing to the nationwide ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
