Feb 22, 2025 : Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla today embarked on a visit to Kangpokpi and Senapati districts, marking a significant event by inaugurating two Information Technology (IT) Centres.
These centres, funded by the Ministry of Home Affairs, were opened amidst a backdrop of eager anticipation at Presidency College, Motbung, and within the Deputy Commissioner’s office complex in Senapati.
During his visit to Kangpokpi, the Governor engaged extensively with students at Presidency College, Motbung, where he formally launched the IT Centre.
Subsequently, he presided over a comprehensive review session at the Kangpokpi District Headquarters, deliberating with key officials, including the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police, on the efficacy of various developmental initiatives such as the Jal Jeevan Mission and projects under the New Development Bank.
The Governor also took a step in public health by personally adopting five TB patients under the Nikshay Mitra initiative, alongside distributing fruit baskets as a gesture of goodwill.
Moving forward to Senapati District, the Governor inaugurated another pivotal IT Centre within the Deputy Commissioner’s office complex, emphasizing the government’s focus on enhancing digital infrastructure across regions.
In a subsequent review meeting, he sought updates on the prevailing law and order situation while also addressing concerns raised by the district administration and representatives of the Indian Red Cross Society, Senapati District Branch.
Throughout his visit, the Governor made a point to engage with Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), listening attentively to their grievances and receiving memoranda outlining local issues.
The day culminated with his presence at the Astro Turf Ground, Senapati, where he witnessed the gripping final match of the 4th Edition of the Lt. Col. (L) Robert TA Memorial Open Football Tournament, further connecting with the community through sport and camaraderie.
