The Governor-in-Council has approved an increase in the Ration Money allowance for the security personnel of the Manipur Police Department. The allowance will be raised from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 2,500 per head per month, effective from September 1, 2025.
The hike covers personnel across all units, including Manipur Rifles, India Reserve Battalion, Civil Police, Manipur Police Telecommunication Organisation, Central Motor Transport Workshop, and Village Defence Force.
The Department described the approval as a significant welfare measure aimed at boosting the morale of police personnel who have diligently served the State through turbulent law and order situations over the past two years and three months. Their contributions, the Department said, have been instrumental in improving the overall security scenario in Manipur.
The Manipur Police Department also expressed gratitude to the State Government for this initiative, which recognizes the dedication and sacrifices of its personnel.
