Governor Leads Constitution Day Observance in Manipur; Former CM N Biren Calls for Renewed Commitment

Governor of Manipur Ajay Kumar Bhalla, alongside MP Maharaja Leishemba Sanajaoba, led the state-level observance of Constitution Day at the Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), Imphal, today to mark 75 years of the adoption of the Indian Constitution.

The event emphasised the foundational values of the Constitution that protect democratic principles and promote justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity across the nation.

Former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, in a message shared on his official Facebook handle, described the occasion as “a powerful reminder of the bedrock of our democracy,” highlighting the Constitution’s role in unifying the country and ensuring rights for every citizen.

He urged people to uphold its spirit and work collectively towards a better future for both the state and the nation.

Similar observances were organised across various districts, where government officials, students, civil society groups, and local bodies participated in reading the Preamble and awareness programmes aimed at promoting constitutional duties and strengthening unity among communities.
