Governor Meets BJP MLAs of Churachandpur at DC Office Ahead of PM Modi’s Visit

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Manipur on September 13, marking exactly seven months of President’s Rule in the state, the Governor held a meeting with BJP MLAs of Churachandpur district today at the DC Office.

The meeting began at 10:30 AM and was attended by Ngursanglur Sanate from Tipaimukh (ST), Vungzagin Valte from Thanlon (ST), Letzamang Haokip from Henglep (ST), L.M. Khaute from Churachandpur (ST), and Paolienlal Haokip from Saikot (ST), along with BJP Churachandpur District President Thanglam Haokip. Notably, Chinlunthang, the MLA from Singhat (ST), was absent from the meeting.

While the exact agenda of the discussions remains undisclosed, sources indicate that preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit were a key focus. The MLAs reportedly requested that they be allowed to meet stakeholders during Modi’s visit, to which the Governor assured that their request would be forwarded to higher authorities.

Meanwhile, BJP North In-charge Sambit Patra and Rajya Sabha MP In-charge for Manipur, Dr. Ajit Gopchhade, are set to arrive in Manipur tomorrow. Party sources say their visit is primarily aimed at party-level preparations and coordination ahead of the Prime Minister’s trip.
