Governor of Manipur Graces Commemoration of Foundation Days of Bihar, Rajasthan, and Odisha

In a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, graced the Commemoration of Foundation Days of Bihar, Rajasthan, and Odisha, held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan, Imphal. The event, part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, brought together the rich cultural heritage of three states—Bihar, Rajasthan, and Odisha—highlighting their deep historical ties with Manipur.

A key highlight of the event was the Governor’s emphasis on the importance of national integration, particularly the role of central universities in Manipur, such as the Central Agricultural University (CAU) and the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT). These institutions not only attract students from across the country but also serve as platforms for fostering cross-cultural exchange, allowing students from different states to experience Manipur’s own rich cultural heritage.

Governor Bhalla encouraged students to act as ambassadors of Manipur, spreading the state’s historical and cultural legacy across the nation. He also spoke on the significance of student exchange programs, which help in strengthening inter-state bonds and promoting mutual understanding among diverse communities.

The event was attended by Chief Secretary P.K. Singh, Secretary to the Governor Sumant Singh, and several senior officials, and was marked by cultural performances from CAU and IIIT students that reflected the traditions of Bihar, Rajasthan, and Odisha.

This commemoration not only showcased the rich cultures of these states but also reinforced the importance of national unity and the promotion of a shared heritage through educational exchanges.
