Governor Orders Transfer of Nine IPS and MPS Officers Across Manipur

Feb 26, 2025: In an administrative move amid President’s Rule, the Governor of Manipur has ordered the transfer and posting of nine IPS and MPS officers with immediate effect.

The transfers, aimed at optimising operational efficiency and ensuring public interest, include prominent changes in key positions across the state.

According to the orders issued by Chief Secretary Prashant Kumar Singh on behalf of the Governor, Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) Shivanand Surve, presently stationed at Senapati, will assume charge as SP of Thoubal district.

Similarly, Th. Vikramjit Singh, serving as SP Kakching, will now lead as Commanding Officer (CO) of the 10th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB).

Among other notable transfers, Sheikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, currently Senior Superintendent Officer (SO) to the Director General of Police (DGP), will take charge as SP of Jiribam. Dharmendra Kumar, promoted from Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Lamlai, will now serve as SP Senapati.

Further, Priyadarshini Laishram, holding the post of SP Immigration, will assume the role of SP Kakching.

Dr. S. Ibomcha Singh, in charge of SP Thoubal, will now oversee the CO of the 6th IRB and the Special Commando Unit.

K. Dilip Singh, Commanding Officer of the 6th IRB, will transition to Senior Superintendent Officer to the DGP.

Additionally, O. Chaoba Singh, currently CO of the 10th IRB and in charge of VIP protection, will assume the responsibilities of SP Immigration. Lastly, Khamnam Robinsun Singh, overseeing SP Jiribam, will concurrently manage the Additional Director position at the Manipur Police Training College (MPTC).
